Friends of Noosa Botanic Gardens Inc. (FNBG) is a group of community volunteers who provide substantial support for activities and events, garden maintenance and infrastructure changes at Noosa Botanic Gardens. (NBG) FRIENDS contribute a wide variety of interests, skills and knowledge to the ongoing development of the Gardens.
FRIENDS’ key activities include: promoting and supporting the development of the Gardens as a significant tourist asset of the Noosa district; hands-on garden maintenance; ‘Grow Our Gardens’ propagation; assisting with the plant records database – and the design and development of a community-focused program of interpretive and cultural events, such as Guided Seasonal Walks and ‘Music in the Gardens’ or our ‘Plant Fair’.
FRIENDS of Noosa Botanic Gardens meets regularly for a social ‘Get together’ in the Gardens or at the Cooroy Library contingent upon weather and meeting requirements.
This is a ‘meet and greet’ for new FRIENDS and a forum for discussing progress and FNBG plans – we often have a special guest speaker or presentation.
See our EVENTS page for details.
Our GARDEN MAINTENANCE TEAM meets in the Gardens each Thursday – from 8am.
For a better idea of what we do – come along to our morning tea break at 9.30am. You will find the Team in one of the picnic shelters – look out for our orange shirts!
